OUR KEY SERVICE AREAS
- In Papua New Guinea, there has been a recent increase in the establishment of education or training providers nationwide to cater for the growing number of school leavers seeking formal training to enter the workforce. There is also a need to conduct information sharing awareness activities in our local communities on issues affecting the people and their livelihood. In recognizing this, SETC offers professional services in instructional design at an affordable rate to local educational institutions, training organisations, community workers or individuals who need assistance with designing and developing new learning or training programmes or packages for the first time.
- SETC also recognizes that a need exists in reviewing outdated learning and training programmes currently on offer in Educational Institutions or Training Organisations. Outdated learning content means simply that students or graduates of your organisation or institution will be poorly informed and ill equipped to perform or understand their jobs well when they enter the workplace. SETC can provide your organisation or institution with a systematic method in which to review learning materials to ensure they are current and relevant for your learners.
- With the lead consultant’s experiences in editing and proofreading in her formal work experiences, she would also like to reach out to individuals or local organisations and offer her services to those who need it for editing manuscripts in preparation for printing or publishing. Our focus is on English or Tok Pisin Language Editing. We can create a style guide to use for consistency when editing your work OR we can adapt your own style guide if you have one you would prefer.
- Finally, English to Tok Pisin translation services are very important for improving communication and disseminating information at the grassroots level. SETC recognizes that there is a need for professional translation services to ensure translations are accurate, clear and culturally appropriate for the Papua New Guinean audience, without losing their original meaning.
OUR LEAD CONSULTANT
The lead consultant of SETC has an established background in Education and Linguistics with 13 years of experience as an Instructional Designer, and 4 years in teaching Language and Communication related courses. She has a BA in Linguistics, Graduate Diploma in Linguistics, PGDE (Language and Literature) and MSC – E-Learning and Instructional Design. She also possesses a Training of Trainers certificate and a Certificate 4 in Designing and Delivering E-Learning.
WORKING HOURS AND MODE OF WORK
As SETC is a small business and operating only on a part time basis, its team comprises a lead consultant and engages the services of contracted experts when the need arises.
We prefer to work remotely with communication and work exchanged online as much as possible. Arrangements can be made for meetings upon your request though if you have problems communicating and working online.
As our working hours are strictly outside of normal working hours, our approach will be for potential clients to give us their service request and deadlines so that we can develop a work plan for timely completion of projects.
